The hotel also offers the opportunity to experience the delicious flavors of traditional local cuisine--dishes with famous Lake Shikotsu sockeye salmon (similar to salmon). Dinner is a traditional kaiseki-ryori cuisine meal, with parts of the dinner cooked on an open-hearth, known as an irori in Japanese. All food uses water from Lake Shikotu, which boasts water on par with the world’s clearest water sources.

The hotel has two indoor and two outdoor hot spring baths, segregated by gender.There are also “family baths,” where groups can bathe privately for an additional fee.
The must visit place is an open-air natural hot spring bath connected to a picturesque lake. The rustic beauty of the baths and the lake separated only by the rocks has been unchanged since being founded in the year 1915. The water level of the outdoor hot spring changes seasonally according to the water level of the lake, which boasts water on par with the world’s clearest water sources.
